New Covent Garden Market (NCGM) has been recognised as the UK’s best Non-Retail Supplier of the Year at the Festival of Fresh event, held annually to celebrate progress and creativity in the fresh produce and food sectors.

Pictured above: Judges Fred Searle (left) and Chris White (right), both of trade publication Fresh Produce Journal, presented the award to two of NCGM's catering suppliers Rob Burton of Rushton's (second from left) and Paul Murphy of Yes Chef (second from right).
Judges highlighted the Market’s ‘continued reputation for premium produce’ alongside its ‘impressive redevelopment’ and the Market’s long history of serving the capital’s restaurants and foodservice businesses with top-quality fresh fruit and vegetables. The judges also praised the Covent Garden Market Authority’s (CGMA) ‘tireless efforts to promote NCGM and celebrate its traders’.

Speaking after the announcement, CGMA’s General Manager Robert McAuliffe - pictured above collecting the award - said: “This is testament to the hard work, creativity, and dedication of the people here. We’re incredibly proud to be recognised among so many respected peers, and we see this as motivation to continue pushing boundaries within the fresh sector.”

NCGM was also exhibiting at Festival of Fresh alongside New Spitalfields and Western International as London Wholesale Markets, pictured above, informing the fresh produce world of our combined value to growers from the UK and abroad who want a direct and profitable route into retail and catering customers in London and beyond.
The event was held in Barway, Cambridgeshire at the home of G’s, a family-owned fresh produce grower and supplier which has a long-standing distribution relationship with NCGM-based wholesaler P&I Fruits.
