Florist Manager, Rose & Ammi Flowers

Award winning florist Rose & Ammi Flowers is looking for a Manager to lead a small team. This is a key role within the company; you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the business, from day to day shop duties, admin and weddings.

We are looking for someone with previous floristry and managerial experience and a genuine passion for flowers. This is a public facing role where a confident and friendly approach is required. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing staff

  • Shop based position for experienced florist (ideally 5 years ).
  • We are looking for a talented florist who is willing to roll to their sleeves and get stuck into this role.
  • We are a long established busy shop in South East London who supplies flowers into central London and Kent. 
  • We are a hands on deck team and we cater for all aspects of floristry: events, weddings, gifts, funeral, corporate, relay as well as run a flower school. 
  • We need someone with a great eye for design and be adaptable to the role as it presents itself each day, no two are ever the same!  A warm, friendly personality and good communication skills are all a must.
  • Some previous management experience may be useful as at times you will be responsible for day to day running of the shop and staff management. 
  • Please be punctual each day and bring enthusiasm and creativity to work with you - we want drive and passion and a love and knowledge of flowers and plants.

Your role in brief:

  • Dealing with clients in person and over the phone
  • Conditioning and unloading of flowers and plants 
  • Presenting shop and products for sale
  • Designing and developing bouquets and displays for walk on sale and being involved in the products we sell online
  • Maintaining stock and stock list
  • Organising deliveries and making sure items reach clients as requested by coordinating with delivery driver 
  • Receiving and sending relay and web sale  orders
  • Shop window and interior and shop front displays
  • Budgeting for designs 
  • Attending installations for events and weddings where needed
  • Working with owner and member of the team as well as being self motivated to work alone

Key responsibilities

  • Producing hand-tied bouquets to company specification, as well as on the spot bespoke items with Petersham Nurseries sensibility on a daily basis
  • Styling displays and installing arrangements on site (in store and restaurants)   
  • Growing the business through establishing and fulfilling corporate relationships
  • Conditioning and maintenance of floristry product at the highest level, including display items throughout the store, restaurants and courtyard
  • Providing expert advice on flowers and their care to customers
  • Delivering one-on-one and group florist training to the rest of the team
  • Assisting in developing product offer: through providing regular feedback on customer requests, and through identifying and catering to trends and one-off custom opportunities
  • Supporting and delivering of store sales and KPI targets – both group and individual
  • Delivering Petersham Nurseries customer service expectations, including building of lasting customer relationships
  • Maintaining highest level of store operations, including deliveries, display standards, e-commerce processing and inventory management
  • Acquiring and developing product knowledge and imaginative ways of conveying it to colleagues and customers
  • Liaising and supporting fellow team members and other functions of the business, and ensure productive and positive environment at all times
