Senior Florist - Part time TBC / 3 days per week

Overview – Lavender Green Flowers are looking for an experienced florist with strong retail experience who can support in driving the high street business forward. Focusing on developing our key areas:

Walk in trade – Developing our offer of flowers, plants and homewares
Local community - Residential and business engagement
Educate the customer – Create a point difference by profiling seasonality and unique varieties
Workshops and experiential – Series of classes that cover everyday skills through to seasonal masterclasses

o Support the store manager to deliver the retail strategy for 2019
o Work on projects with the senior team to develop the key areas (as above)
o Curate the look and feel of the store to ensure we always have eye catching installations whilst profiling seasonal campaigns to drive sales
o Ensure point of difference within the upper market sector


Daily Duties:
o Support in the development of new contracts, events at London hotels and weddings. Sales leads can also be passed through to our Event Sales, Contract Sales, and Wedding Sales team to process when appropriate
o Follow budget to control costs and push sales to achieve and surpass targets
o Maximize potential of walk in trade
o Market products targeting the local residents
o Up hold Store Look and visual merchandising
o Diarise and manage store calendar to ensure we push key dates and maximize potential of occasions such as Valentines
o Train and develop store team on customer service, floral ability, product knowledge, trends, price points and store housekeeping
o Keep up to date with competitors’ Installations
o Liaise with Windsor team to manage production and delivery from Windsor for store sold contracts, weddings and events
o Support in updating the web shop to ensure its current and fresh
o You will need an extensive understanding of all flowers and plants that are regularly used throughout the seasons and keep up to date with trends and new product varieties
o Using knowledge gained within the industry you should inspire, motivate and develop the team to create designs which follow the clients brief, are well made and on budget
o Be computer literate with a basic knowledge of all Microsoft office programs
o Good communication skills with good written and verbal English
o Coordinate and order flower and plant as required and within the agreed budget
o Work alongside the team in an active floristry role
o Provide excellent Customer Service


Minimum of 5 years in a senior role for a premium florist based in London. Sales experience in generating new leads and dealing with local businesses. Proactive in new initiatives to drive sales and seasonal campaigns.

Events & Weddings Manager, Hayford & Rhodes

As Event Manager, you are responsible for managing all event floristry proposals, line managing two Event Planners and securing events revenue for Hayford & Rhodes, working within a fast-paced environment, flexible and agile environment.

Reporting to the Directors, your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and developing a diverse portfolio of clients, with end-to-end sales, project management and customer care.
  • Meeting – and where possible, exceeding! – yearly sales targets for the Events department.
  • Keeping up-to-date with sales, communication and project management processes using our CRM system.
  • Creating unique, design-led bespoke quotes for a variety of clients and events.
  • Planning logistics including (but not limited to): Flower ordering, buying and hiring props.
  • Leading a team of Event Planners and Events Florists to create and sell high-level floral designs.
  • Working under pressure at times, including some early morning, evening and weekend work.

About You

  • Highly experienced Event Manager, with line management experience and a history of designing high-quality successful proposals.
  • A detailed approach to project management, with the ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards in occasional high-pressured conditions.
  • Well-organised with at least five years’ experience in the London events industry, preferably in the high-end luxury sector.
  • Extensive experience working with a variety of clients and types of events, including large installations, corporate events and weddings.
  • Strong sales skills, hitting monthly and annual targets and reporting directors on a weekly basis as to financial performance. 
  • Extensive networks, with proactive client management/ retention skills.
  • Ability to manage complex budgets, with experience in Director-level reporting. 
  • Able to demonstrate personal creative flair, with excellent knowledge of/ or interest in flowers and floristry trends.
  • Excellent IT skills: MS Office is essential, and experience in CRM systems, SketchUp, Photoshop and CAD would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • A careful and detail-orientated approach to work.
  • A friendly, warm and welcoming communication style: As a brand ambassador for Hayford & Rhodes, networking within the event and wedding industry will be an integral part of your role.

Situated in the heart of Tuscany, Relais Borgo Santo Pietro is a luxury 5* boutique hotel and spa, featuring 20 individually styled rooms and suites. 

Our facilities include Michelin starred ‘Meo Modo’ restaurant and elegant ‘Trattoria sul Albero’ restaurant, a holistic spa, onsite cooking school and natural ‘Seed to Skin’ skincare laboratory, all set in 13 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.
In addition to this we have a sister restaurant, Michelin starred ‘La Bottega del Buon Caffe’ in Florence and luxury charter yacht ‘Satori’.


The Role

Duties will include-

• Maintaining all the arrangements in the common areas, bedrooms, spa and restaurants.
• Providing flowers for special events, dinners and client requests.
• Providing flowers for our sister restaurant and yacht.
• Providing bespoke flowers for weddings of all sizes, from intimate elopements to full villa
• Leading flower lessons for guests, one on one or in a small group.



We are looking for a two passionate individuals to join our team, creating fabulous flowers under the Tuscan sun.

The ideal candidates will have:

• A minimum of 4 years hands-on practical floristry experience.
• NVQ/C&G qualification or similar
• An adaptable, hard-working attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Creative flair, a passion for flowers and a genuine desire to learn, improve and flourish within the industry
• An interest and applicable knowledge in house and flowering plants
• Excellent communication skills
• A good level of spoken and written English.
• Be organised, presentable and happy to work as part of a team.
• The right to live and work in the EU.

A valid drivers license and confidence to drive in Italy would be a plus but not essential.
