Event & Project Manager - Early Hours London

We are looking for someone to join the team to manage the installation and events part of the business. You will be responsible for planning, budgeting and implementing the projects that are taken on in the business throughout the year. You will be required to manage the team to ensure that each job is executed to the highest standard while also ensuring that the client relationship is maintained through great customer service and communication. You will be required to manage the work studio and storage units we have by maintaining inventories and good practice to ensure materials and stock are kept in good condition and utilised well. You will work closely with the two company directors in terms of design and planning who will support you through each project where needed. This is a demanding role to undertake, particularly at busy times of year such as Chelsea Flower Show and the Christmas period so is not for the faint hearted. Due to the demanding nature of this role a competitive salary is offered to reflect this.


Manage the florist team, carpenters & crew.

Book freelance staff when needed.

Plan, budget & implement events & Installations.

Manage the work studio and storage warehouse.

Communicate with clients & suppliers.


The successful candidate for this role will need to have significant floristry knowledge and experience. As well as be capable of managing a team and maintaining motivation and morale within the team, particularly while in pressured situations. The ability to delegate tasks effectively and efficiently is a must. You will need to have a solid background in event floristry or set design or design fabrication of a similar nature to what we do. You will need to have an understanding of these projects to enable to you effectively plan the logistics and organise the purchasing of materials for these projects effectively. Exceptional organisational skills are required for this high pressured role to avoid any delays or costly mistakes where possible and a great personable nature to communicate with the team and clients via email and face to face while on site working to ensure that both the team working for Early Hours and the clients of Early Hours have a great experience.

You will be required to have a good grasp of written and spoken English and be an excellent overall communicator. A full UK driving licence will also be a requirement for this role and being comfortable driving a variety of sized vans is an additional benefit. The hours required for this role and working pattern will be dependent on the projects that are underway. Some project installations and events take place overnight and on weekends so you will need to be highly flexible with your working hours. The role is a mixture of being onsite, in the design studio and office based. To be successful at this job you will need to be happy to work in all of these areas. Attention to detail is an absolute key skill to uphold and deliver – you will be managing more than one project at one time so managing your time effectively is crucial.

Florist - Early Hours London

We are looking for an experienced florist with creative flair, pride in their work, and a passion for only the best customer service. We create a vast array of different types of products and are looking for someone who is able to adapt and work in all areas of the business in terms of fresh flower contracts, weddings and events as well as large-scale installations in faux flower. We are looking for somebody who works well independently while also being an asset to our close-knit team.

Lead Florist - Hayford & Rhodes

Two Lead Florist positions are now available within the Hayford & Rhodes creative team.

Each job-holder will be a valued and talented member of Hayford & Rhodes, with responsibility for conceiving and preparing creative and profitable floral arrangements for our customers. You'll be a part of a team of florists – requiring you to not only be talented and creative, but to also be a great communicator, highly organised, and have a good head for numbers too.

Our customers include some of the world’s most luxurious and demanding, restaurants, venues, offices, and private individuals – all of whom expect a flawless execution of the services we have committed to provide to them. Lead Florists play an important role in making this happen and need to be committed to going the extra mile when necessary – settling for nothing less than perfection and quality.

The role calls for a combination of passion, creativity, flexibility, team-working, interpersonal skills, organisation and planning, attention to detail, budget and cost control, and staying calm under pressure. Much of the work we do is carried out during unsocial hours, so early morning starts, late nights and working weekends are sometimes part of the job.

  • Designing creative and profitable floral designs that perfectly meet our client’s brief
  • Sometimes leading a small team of florists, on a regular or project-by-project basis
  • Preparation of on-brand design concepts, mood boards and detailed presentations as required
  • Detailed planning of designs and installations
  • Proactively identifying and implementing ways to improve gross margin and profitability
  • Maintaining of accurate and timely records (of all types) relating to jobs and customers
  • Ordering of flowers, equipment and other items required, always staying within budget for each order
  • Preparation of vases, materials and equipment
  • Conditioning and preparation of flowers in the workroom
  • Styling and setting up of displays and installation of agreed floral designs
  • Loading and unloading of vans
  • Driving to and from customers’ premises and venues as required
  • Tidying up and removal of waste after installation
  • Break down and clearance of installations and displays
  • Planned and unplanned maintenance of arrangements between installations
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times.

Part-time Florist Shop Manager

Working 20 hours a week, to manage and develop the Flower Farm Shop job-sharing with our other part-time manager, to take forward the “seed to bouquet” concept, leading a small team to deliver beautiful, organic floral designs to a new customer base.


Key duties:
• Implementing and maintaining operating procedures to ensure the smooth day to day running of the flower shop;
• Working with the Director to set a budget for the shop’s financial performance and working to achieve these targets, including keeping close control of expenditure, banking, wastage and pricing;
• Providing excellent service to customers ordering by telephone, online and in person and ensuring that orders are delivered in a timely manner and to EDFF’s standards, including liaising with external delivery companies;
• Regular liaison with the Farm Manager to anticipate and meet customer demands and to keep track of product availability;
• Presenting the shop to maximise impact on potential customers, including creating eye-catching window displays (with input from Fiona), displaying a beautiful selection of flowers and bouquets, linking with seasonal themes, pricing and labelling clearly and ensuring that the shop environment is welcoming, clean and tidy.
• Taking an active role in the further development of the shop, including sourcing new ancillary product ranges and collaborations that fit with EDFF’s brand values;
• Building positive relationships within the local community to increase opportunities for cross-working, brand awareness and generally being a good neighbour;
• Line management of small team of florists: creating a positive team ethos; recruiting talented and enthusiastic people; driving performance through setting clear objectives, arranging staff training including one-to-one coaching to support development and conducting appraisals;
• Working with our Head of Communications to maximise opportunities to promote our pioneering approach and reach new audiences;
• Ensuring the staff work in a safe, secure and compliant environment whilst fulfilling health and safety obligations, including appropriate use of tools and materials;
• Evaluating and developing ideas for further developing our offering, such as ideas for workshops or improving sustainability;
• Attending industry networking events, research visits and training events to build your skills, learn about new developments, share best practice and transfer learning back to your work at Electric Daisy Flower Farm;
• Any other duties commensurate with the level of this post as reasonably requested by your line manager.


• Solid floristry training, whether gained on the job or a combination of work and college-based learning
• Knowledge of retail operating procedures

• Relevant qualifications, such as an award, certificate or diploma in Floristry

• Significant practical experience in, and creative flair for, floral design
• Retail management experience, ideally in the floristry sector
• Leadership skills including recruitment, coaching, team development and motivation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Budget management experience

• Experience in delivering workshops
• Project management skills

• Vision to establish and develop the flower shop
• Hardworking and focused, setting an example to others
• Self-motivated, including being able to work independently on own initiative

• Flexibility to cover shifts on a rota covering Tuesday to Sunday
• Willing to put in extra hours where necessary (with overtime pay / time off in lieu by arrangement)
