With wedding season fast approaching, in this month's Product Profile we’re going to focus on blush roses... such romantic and heavily sought after blooms by many a bride-to-be.
Two popular varieties are pictured below - Quicksand (left) and Menta (right). Read on to discover which other ones you can expect to find at New Covent Garden Flower Market...
Background
From the Rosaceae family, roses are one of the top 10 best-selling cut blooms in the UK and they're also the national flower of England.
With regards to blush roses, they can often be described in colour as nude, beige, sandy, sandy blush, sandy cream, lilac, musky, blush pink or champagne... the list goes on. And this can sometimes make things just a little 'interesting' when you're having a conversation about them.
For example, when you're looking at printed photos or online, it may be a challenge to identify the variety because an image might be edited or have a filter. So, that's why it’s always advisable to visit the Market and see all the different blush rose varieties in person.
It's also worth bearing in mind that Quicksand can vary a little bit in colour. That's why two photos are featured below. Should you have any questions though, simply ask the traders.
