New Interim Board Member joins CGMA

Victoria Wilson joins the Covent Garden Market Authority as a new Interim Board Member.

Victoria brings a host of experience to the CGMA Board, including strong leadership skills and management experience. Having worked at a Board level for many years, frequently at the interface of the private sector and Government, Victoria has extensive experience in regulated industries.

Used to handling complex transactions, with multiple stakeholders, Victoria’s high-profile projects include Eurostar and High Speed Two (HS2), the UK’s new high-speed rail network.

David Frankish, Board Chair of Covent Garden Market Authority says: “I would like to offer Victoria a warm welcome. It’s an exciting time for New Covent Garden Market and I’m delighted to have Victoria’s skills and experience joining us on the CGMA Board.”

Victoria’s appointment will last for nine months in order to bolster the quoracy of the board while a competition for permanent board members is undertaken. She has no political activity to declare and the appointment has been made in accordance with the ministerial governance code on public appointments.

CGMA is the team that looks after and runs New Covent Garden Market. Set up by Acts of Parliament in 1961, CGMA is accountable to Defra, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and led by the Board, members of which are appointed by the Defra Secretary of State. The CGMA Board is chaired by David Frankish.
