Boxes of homegrown Snowflakes are available this month at Pratley. With the botanical name of Leucojum aestivum, they may be from the same family as Snowdrops, the Amaryllis family, but there's one easy way to tell the difference. Snowflakes have little green dots around the tips of their six bell-shaped flower petals, whereas Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) have dots on only three of their petals.

International Women's Day is taking place this month on Sunday 8th March. Since then Mimosa has become the floral symbol for International Women's Day, which is celebrated every year throughout the world. You'll find Mimosa at several wholesalers, including Porters Foliage.
