Sensational spring flowers are in abundance at New Covent Garden Market this month! From Butterfly Ranunculus and Fritillaries to Tulips and Lily of the Valley! Read on to discover more...
Proving to be a huge hit are Butterfly Ranunculus! Check out this beautiful example above at Zest Flowers. The different varieties in this relatively new collection of cut flowers are named after Gods and this one's called Charis. As well as orange, you'll also find them in pink, white, yellow, red and apricot.
With two important dates for flowers this month, International Women’s Day on Saturday, 8th March and Mother’s Day on Sunday, 31st March, these dainty blooms would be perfect to include in hand-tieds.
British Flowers
Snowflakes, also known as Leucojum vernum, with their white and green bell-shaped petals can be found at Pratley.
Also grown on UK shores are heavenly scented Narcissus Erlicheer. Plus there are Paperwhites and Narcissus Avalanche. And on the daffodil front, you'll find boxes upon boxes of Golden Harvest, Dutch Master, Carlton and Edward Buxton...to name but a few. World Flowers
The incredibly impressive orange blooms of Fritillaria imperialis 'Orange Sweet' can be found at Bloomfield. They really are a statement flower, aren't they?
Staying with warm tones are these fabulous Ranunculus Pon Pon Flora at Dennis Edwards Flowers. With their frilly orange and green petals, they'd certainly add a pop of colour to a spring arrangement! And you can easily find them on Dennis's stand, because all the flowers are grouped by colour.
For a more pastel palette, how about these wonderful Caramel Dianthus at Bloomfield? Head over to their Instagram account to check out the other colours of carnation, which they have available. And if you're wondering, it's Leigh, who was previously a florist, who's behind their social media.
In line with the current trend for nude, beige, peach and apricot designs, how about this Grevillea Cal Gem for adding texture? It's full botanical name is Grevillea Caloundra Gem.
Or you may decide to choose this Limonium sinuatum Sinuet Honey Apricot, also known as Statice?
Such a wonderful filler flower to add to your floral designs is this Matricaria at R French & Sons. Did you know they're on Instagram too? This daisy-like bloom looks equally as charming massed on its own as a bridal or bridesmaid bouquet.
There's still a large array of different Hellebores currently at Nine Elms, including this pretty variety called Helleborus sternii.

Just how gorgeous is the colour of this rose? Called Cafe Latte, you'll find it at Zest Flowers. By the way, three of the guys on the Zest team also had previous careers in the world of sports. Can you match the person to the profession?
You may have seen all the comments on Instagram recently about a new range of dyed brown flowers? Well, Anthony at A Goodchild (The Floral Garden Group) has sourced dyed tulips called Brownies and they're going down a storm. There's also a close-up photo below.
And he has a range of dyed chrysanthemums, which you can see on his Instagram account.
If you're looking for a beautiful pink double tulip, how about this stunning variety at J H Hart Flowers called Endless Love?
British Foliage
The warm weather is helping magnolia bud come into bloom and you'll find containers brimming full of bundles of it at GB Foliage.
Over at Porters Foliage, there's homegrown single white prunus blossom, together with double blossom, which in bud.

Just how striking are the striped petals on these British Delft Primroses at L Mills? They're also sometimes aptly referred to as zebra primroses.
World Plants
With green leaves freckled with silvery-white spots, these Begonia maculata plants at Quality Plants are also known as Trout Begonia. And yes, that is a fish on their labels! By the way check out how many orchids Quality managed to fit in their truck recently for a delivery. Very impressive...
Virtually indestructible is how these large Philodendron xanadu houseplants are described. I can't mention them though without name-checking Olivia Newton John and ELO, can I? Incredible to think the film was first released in 1980!
A sure sign that spring is here is when you start seeing pots of beautifully fragrant lily of the valley plants at the Flower Market. Head to Evergreen for trolleys brimming full of them. Whilst you're there, check out all their different varieties of Hellebores in bloom and Narcissus in bud.
And if you're looking for an instant display, check out their trays of miniature potted Snow Baby Narcissus.
On the complete other end of the spectrum when it comes to height though are these lofty Strelitzia plants at Arnott & Mason, which are over 5ft tall. They're the perfect specimen plant for giving real impact to a space. Check out their Instagram account for more inspiration.
Sundries
The Flower Store, which is part of Bloomfield, have got lots of new stock in this month including these fabulous glass vases in different shapes, sizes and colours. You'll find them in brown, dark grey, green and purple.
If you're looking for wicker baskets, they stock a great range in different sizes.
And tying in with the current 1970s interiors trend mentioned in our Hottest Floral Trends for 2019 Report, they have a selection of white geometric vases too. The Flower Store just happens to be on Instagram too!
