With the arrival of autumn and Halloween on the horizon, this month we're shining the floral spotlight on orange and peach roses!

Just how incredible are these Free Spirit roses, with their not only orange and peach ruffle-edged petals, but also with hints of pink and even yellow?!

Background

From the Rosaceae family, roses are one of the top 10 best-selling cut flowers in the UK and they're the national flower of England. There's a little confusion as the origin of the name, rose. Some are of the opinion that it comes from 'Rosa', the Latin for red. And others feel that it comes from the Celtic 'rhod', also meaning red.

Available all year round, roses are generally more sought after at New Covent Garden Flower Market during the wedding season, from May through to August. And they tend to come from Holland, Colombia and Ecuador.

Types

Here are some of the different varieties of orange and peach roses, which you can expect to find at Nine Elms.
